This program currently supports training programs ranging from truck driving, welding, teaching, and heavy equipment operation.
For this year’s expo, the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma had Mr. Bill Cordes as the guest speaker. Mr. Cordes has keynoted programs for conventions, conferences, and schools nationwide since 1988. His programs have been featured in 49 states and Canada, and have been experienced by well over 2.5 million participants. Cordes success as a keynote speaker comes from his extensive life experiences as a former high school teacher, college professor, talk show host, life coach, and college transition specialist. His experiences combined with humor and enthusiasm made him thoroughly be able to reach the students and potential employers that were in attendance.
Attendees of the career expo had the opportunity to play a life-size Game of Life that consisted of an over-sized game board and hands on experience that emphasized the importance of making good decisions. The attendees also got practice with a welding simulator, robots, manufacturing education, and much more.
Keith Ewing represented Summit Industrial at the expo. Keith presented the many opportunities in construction, and presented four Welding Scholarships to the Force Welding School in Valliant, OK. This school is run by Travis Sargent who has had a great success rate in producing some of the best qualified welders for our industries.
The 8th Annual Career Expo was a great success with between 3500-4000 attendees present. Summit Industrial is so pleased to have been able to be a part of this expo and speak into the lives of students wanting to enter the heavy industrial construction industry. Summit Industrial is committed to supporting our young people in the decisions they must make concerning their future and we hope to be one of the companies they choose to work at after graduation.
